The Flammed Charge Stroke Tripplet is well known in Switzerland and linked to the Basler drumming and hence assigned to the “Basler Rudiment Family”. It is important to play the accents forte and piano strokes piano. The starting tempo is 60 quarters per minute and the rudiment is ended in a tempo as fast as 100. Throughout this acceleration, it must be kept rhythmical. Most difficult is to prevent a rest in front of the flam: this so called “upstroke” must have been mastered to achieve a rhythmical correct Flammed Charge Stroke Triplet in practice structure. Also, do not contract the triplet.
It is seldomly seen in Swiss drum literature, however, it occurs in some Basler marches in its natural practice structure. Contrary to the Flammed charge stroke without triplet, this rudiment can also be found in traditional pieces.
